Congratulations to dancers of Ballet Detroit on a beautiful performance at the 32nd Annual DSO Nutcracker Luncheon at the Detroit Athletic Club.
Artistic Director of Ballet Detroit, Sergey Rayevskiy traveled to Washington, D.C. to instruct master classes at the Kirov Academy of Ballet.
Ballet Detroit welcomed Ms. Violetta from Saint-Petersberg, Russia for one week of instruction. Violetta Zhirova received her instruction from the Vaganova Academy, including instruction from Ninele Kurgapkina (Legendary Kirov prima ballerinas, one of the last Vaganova’s students). Her Stage experience includes Mariinsky, Mikhailovsky, Alexandrinsky and Hermitage Theatres. We are very excited to have had the opportunity to host her in Detroit for an exciting week of training for the dancers at Ballet Detroit.
Ballet Detroit is a new pre-professional training program designed to offer a full curriculum of Vaganova ballet training to the serious dancer. Auditions are being held at the Detroit Opera House on September 7, 1-3 pm.
